Captains Log
February 16th, 2008
This is the year to visit Fort Myers Beach. Looks like the snowbirds are back but winter visitors are down. I've talked to a lot of business men and it seems that they are crying the blues. I feel their pain, but I can't complain. When I looked at the records from last year, Magic Wind Adventure Sailing is up about 50%. I'm a blessed man and very grateful and thankful. I have had a lot of repeat customers and that is what is working for me. I know that once you sail with me, you will come back. If you put it in corporate terms, it's a good product. But that is what my CPA says. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a blast to get out on the water, catch some sun and drink a coldy or two and enjoy the sea. No cares, no worries, no waxing, no cleaning, no maintenance... It's just a good deal. As for you folks that have stumbled upon this website and are thinking about going sailing on Star of Orion don't give it a second thought. The weather is great, the wind is up and I am sailing. Just pick out your date and give me a call. I'll check the availability and lock up your cruise. During February, March and part of April, I am on a 19 city tour. I'm a magician also and have landed a contract that is keeping me bouncing around the USA. It's a great gig, but I have had to ask a buddy of mine to help me keep the charters on the water. Welcome Captain Ron. If you have read the blog, especially in the summer months, you have already been introduced to this guy. He is a great sailor and keeps a great boat. So Star of Orion and you are in good hands. I take the charters between flying in and out and Capt. Ron, (not from the movie), takes out the rest. From reading in the "Guest Book", Ron is getting some rave reviews, so don't hesitate to take a sail with him. My overnight charters are catching on. Can't really blame you guys for jumping on those. It's like a "Boat & Breakfast" situation. You show up, the vessel is provisioned and we sail to a nice anchorage, enjoy a night on the sea and sail the next day back. Way, way too much fun. When you return to port, you sign the "Guest Book" and be on your way. I'll clean up the mess and get ready for the next bunch. So welcome to the 2008 sailing season here in Southwest Florida. Captain Ron and I are here for you and your sailing vessel, Star of Orion is in top condition and ready to fulfill your seaside dreams. Call me. I'll be there for you and wait for you on the dock. Just go to slip C-18 at Salty Sam's Marina. Capt. Paul West Be sure to check out the Captains blog site as well
